Isn\u2019t there more we can do make your products themselves more marketable?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ReadyShip currently offers its service in the form of a simple tool. With no up-front investment, only a monthly fee, our service enables developers to immediately turn their completed WordPress site into a business.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, we offer a sales platform, as well as hosting and cloning of WordPress sites, to WordPress developers. Maybe I should say it\u2019s <strong>kinda like PayPal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, after considering the feedback of our registered users following our small-scale release in April, I\u2019ve decided that, as of ReadyShip Version 2, we\u2019re going to <strong>transform ReadyShip into a marketplace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Today, I\u2019d like to explain my reasons for this. I want to make that our responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Now, let\u2019s think about this from a developer\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"So_youve_made_something_awesome_The_real_battle_starts_here\">So, you\u2019ve made something awesome!! My greatest masterpiece, (WordPress site), product of my heart and soul, is finally complete!\u201d<br \/>\nOkay. Now what?<\/p>\n<p>The real battle has only just begun.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>How will you approach branding? What\u2019s your core message? Who is your target audience?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>How will you communicate what\u2019s special about your product?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Drawing up a content marketing plan, writing articles yourself, creating social media accounts\u2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Posting, posting, posting\u2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2026all to finally grab your first customer.<\/p>\n<p>On the current ReadyShip platform, developers had to take care of attracting customers themselves. That\u2019s because when I looked at existing theme\/plugin developers, they already had an existing brand and community. Even after joining us and creating their WordPress site, they had a major struggle ahead of them. We hadn\u2019t changed that.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the reason for my decision. By completely overhauling ReadyShip, transforming it into a marketplace, we\u2019ll take on the all-important task of attracting customers ourselves. That\u2019s the best we can offer our developers.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Its_not_just_about_attracting_customers_cant_we_make_your_products_themselves_more_marketable\">It\u2019s not just about attracting customers; can\u2019t we make your products themselves more marketable?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>By transforming ReadyShip into a marketplace and working to help market your products, we can get you more customers. That much is obvious, right? But I don\u2019t want to stop there.<\/p>\n<p>ReadyShip\u2019s main feature is enabling users to immediately start using a completed WordPress site. I\u2019ve come to realize that means <strong>it\u2019s crucial to deliver a strong message regarding the value of our developers\u2019 websites to our target users. We want to encourage your customers to use your products for a long time. Under the ReadyShip model, developers will become more and more happy as customers continue to make long-term use of their products.<\/p>\n<p>You could sum it up as \u201cmarketing,\u201d or more specifically, \u201cbranding\u201d. It\u2019s about ensuring every stage of the process goes swimmingly, from first meeting, to purchasing, to any further interactions. That\u2019s where I realized there\u2019s a lot we can do for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019ll do everything we can to ensure that your customers understand the full value of the products you worked so hard on.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why I\u2019ve decided to turn ReadyShip into a marketplace. I believe that it\u2019s simply the right thing to do, and I\u2019m motivated to get it done.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Simultaneously_launching_with_the_Whitelabel_API\">Simultaneously launching with the Whitelabel API<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>However, the market also contains an alternate set of needs. Some companies <strong>don\u2019t want to show the ReadyShip logo to their customers, don\u2019t want to appear on the marketplace, and want to keep customers entirely within their own branded space.<\/strong> This has been a very common request.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, at the same time as we turn ReadyShip into a marketplace, we will begin offering the long-planned <strong>Whitelabel API, through which you can access all of our features. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll take a closer look at the Whitelabel API in another article. For now, please check out the overview found in the following Docs page:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.readyship.co\/faq.html\">https:\/\/docs.readyship.co\/faq.html<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Conclusion_How_can_we_make_ourselves_useful_to_developers\"><strong>Conclusion: How can we make ourselves useful to developers?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>My reasons for deciding to turn ReadyShip into a marketplace can be summed up in the following three points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Nothing matters more to developers than attracting customers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>We want to take responsibility for that job.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>We also want to do whatever we can to make sure customers value the products our developers work so hard on.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Looking at the wider market and trends in the WordPress world, I believe that the ReadyShip approach to website building will continue to grow in future. At any rate, I\u2019ll continue on my mission to build a more interesting world together with all of you.<\/p>\n<p>To digress for a moment, I consider it a negative that, up until this point, I haven\u2019t made use of my own service. I\u2019m therefore currently hard at work on my own WordPress site, and preparing to sell it using the ReadyShip framework.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m creating my own case study, essentially.
