So, yours might not look exactly like the one in my screenshots, but all the tools should be there and easy to find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"rs-warning\">I strongly recommend having an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudflare.com\/learning\/ssl\/what-is-an-ssl-certificate\/\">SSL certificate<\/a> installed on your domain <strong>before<\/strong> installing WordPress. You&#8217;ll save yourself the trouble of moving everything from HTTP to HTTPS. Many web hosts provide them for free. If not sure, read their documentation or check with the support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"cpanel\">Step 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Access cPanel. Usually, you can simply access it by adding this slug &#8211; <code>\/cpanel<\/code> &#8211; after your domain   (e.g. <code>example.com\/cpanel<\/code>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll need to know your username and password to log in. Usually, the web host will send you an email with the necessary information about your hosting account. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/codex.wordpress.org\/WordPress_Versions\">check the latest WordPress version<\/a> yourself, to be sure. And you can always update WordPress once you&#8217;re in your dashboard.<\/li><li><strong>Choose Installation URL<\/strong>:<ol><li> <strong>Choose Protocol<\/strong> &#8211; As mentioned above, I strongly recommend having an SSL certificate installed on your domain <strong>before<\/strong> installing WordPress with Softaculous, so you can select the <code>https:\/\/<\/code> <strong>Protocol<\/strong>, instead of the default <code>http:\/\/<\/code>. So, if you have an SSL certificate, select <code>https:\/\/<\/code>; otherwise, leave the default <code>http:\/\/<\/code>. You can also choose if you want the <code>www<\/code> or <code>non-www<\/code> version (e.g. <code>https:\/\/example.com<\/code> or <code>https:\/\/www.example.com<\/code>).<\/li><li><strong>Choose Domain<\/strong> &#8211; In case you have more domains or subdomains, choose the one where you want Softaculous to install WordPress on. <\/li><li><strong>In Directory<\/strong> &#8211; Leave blank if you want WordPress to be installed on your root domain (e.g. <code>example.com<\/code>). This means that your homepage will be on your root domain, not in a subdirectory, such as <code>example.com\/wordpress\/<\/code> or whatever you might choose. In most cases, that should be left blank.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Site Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Site Name <\/strong>and<strong> Site Description<\/strong> &#8211; You can edit those in your WordPress settings when you start building your website. Don&#8217;t focus on them now. You can leave the default values.<\/li><li><strong>Enable Multisite (WPMU)<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/article\/create-a-network\/\">Multisite<\/a> allows you to have multiple websites that share a single WordPress installation. Don&#8217;t enable it if you&#8217;re not familiar with this feature. You can always enable it after installing WordPress, if needed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Admin Account<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Admin Username<\/strong> &#8211; For security reasons, don&#8217;t ever use <code>admin<\/code> as a username. So, change the default username with something else. <\/li><li><strong>Admin Password<\/strong> &#8211; Choose a strong password, the type that you can&#8217;t remember by heart \ud83d\ude42 .<\/li><li><strong>Admin Email<\/strong> &#8211; This email address will be used to receive notifications from your WordPress website. It can also be used, by default, when you <a href=\"https:\/\/readyship.co\/blog\/add-contact-form-wordpress\/\">add a contact form in WordPress<\/a>. You can also use it to log in, instead of the username.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Choose Language<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Select Language<\/strong> &#8211; The language you select here will be used to translate your dashboard and the front-end parts of your website that are handled by WordPress. Some themes and plugins might automatically make use of this feature as well.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Select Plugins<\/strong> &#8211; Deselect whatever is selected by default. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/readyship.co\/blog\/install-plugin-wordpress\/\">install plugins in WordPress<\/a> after you&#8217;ve set it up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advanced Options<\/strong> &#8211; Leave the default settings. Or, you could enable <strong>Automated backups<\/strong>, but I think it&#8217;s safer to <a href=\"https:\/\/readyship.co\/blog\/backup-restore-wordpress-site-updraftplus\/\">use something like UpdraftPlus to backup WordPress to remote storage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Select Theme<\/strong> &#8211; Don&#8217;t select any. You can easily install or upload themes after you&#8217;ve finished installing WordPress with Softaculous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email installation details to<\/strong> &#8211; If you want to receive the installation details, such as the login information, add your email address there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you&#8217;re done, click the <strong>Install<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"log-in\">Step 5<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Wait for the installation process to finish.
